Three (3) performances: August 22, 23 and 24th

The production is inspired by events in local history and fuses live music with the visual enchantment of mask and puppet theatre. This year’s Suite features music by Bill Ylitalo, Thomas Workman and Brian Farmer, with vocalists Sarah Underhill, Barbara Wild and Bob Blacker.

The ensemble cast combines company veterans and community volunteers who bring to life dozens of larger-than-life characters. Performers include LeeAnne Richards, Cathy Muller, Soyal Smalls, Jason West and Laura Kopczak.

Arm-of-the-Sea, founded in 1982, tours original productions to cultural centers, festivals and schools throughout the Northeast. The company’s hybrid performance style combines actors, musicians, masked dancers and multi-scaled puppet figures in original works of visual theater.

Our mission is to inspire wonder and enrich the public imagination. The Puppet Suite weaves together various tales from Saugerties’ lore. It’s a home-grown celebration of this place.  — reflects artistic director Marlena Marallo
