TIDEWATER THEATER TENT

This 3,000 sq. ft. seasonal structure is nestled within the massive walls of a former coalbin. With a 44’ x 25’ elevated stage and seating for 100, the Theater Tent offers a focused performance space which can also be configured for meetings, workshops and other needs.

A wooden stage was installed in 2024 and we outfitted the sides of the coalbin walls with hand-printed banners by our Artistic Director Marlena Marallo. There is a projector, basic stage light system and fully equipped sound system for use.

The tent is situated on a flood plain only 4’ above mean high tide and is designed to allow flood events to come and go with minimum disruption.

Additional facilities include: potable water, small gardens, creek access, boat launch, parking area, workshop space, folding tables, and an accessible portable bathroom.
